Connect to Zwift, MyWhoosh or Rouvy

Use Pulse Link to share Apple Watch heart rate with Zwift, MyWhoosh or Rouvy. Connect over Bluetooth or through a JetBlack Victory trainer.

Pulse Link 2.0 · Updated

Your training app can connect to Pulse Link as a Bluetooth heart rate monitor. We have tested it with Zwift, MyWhoosh, Rouvy and JetBlack Victory using Apple Watch Series 5 or later and iPhone.

Check the tested setups for details. The pairing screens may vary by device and app version.

Start sharing heart rate from Apple Watch

  1. Open Pulse Link on your paired Apple Watch and iPhone. Allow Bluetooth access and the Health permissions needed for the workout.
  2. Tap Start Broadcast Warmup on iPhone so your equipment can find Pulse Link.
  3. Choose a workout in Pulse Link on Apple Watch and tap Start Workout. Wait for a live heart rate reading on iPhone.

For screenshots and help with these steps, see the Apple Watch setup guide. To use AirPods with heart rate sensing, follow the AirPods guide. The app tests listed here used Apple Watch.

Connect directly to your training app

Open the training app on a separate device with Bluetooth. Keep it near the iPhone running Pulse Link.

  1. Open the app’s device or sensor pairing screen.
  2. Choose heart rate and search for Bluetooth sensors.
  3. Select Pulse Link, or the name you chose in Pulse Link Settings.
  4. Check that the app shows live heart rate before you start training.

Zwift

Select Pulse Link under Heart Rate. Pair your trainer or power meter separately. If you run out of Bluetooth connections, a supported trainer can pass on the heart rate signal. See Zwift’s device connection guide.

MyWhoosh

Open the heart rate sensor section and choose Pulse Link. If pairing does not finish, check that Pulse Link is sending data and shows live heart rate on iPhone. See MyWhoosh support for help with your device.

Rouvy

Turn on Bluetooth and select Pulse Link under Heart Rate in Rouvy’s sensor screen. See Rouvy’s sensor connection guide for details.

Pulse Link supplies heart rate only. Connect your trainer or other sensors for power, resistance, speed and cadence.

Connect through JetBlack Victory

JetBlack Victory can receive heart rate over Bluetooth and pass it to your training app. This feature is called a Bluetooth bridge. It can reduce the number of Bluetooth connections your training device needs.

  1. Start sharing heart rate in Pulse Link using the steps above.
  2. Open the JetBlack app and connect to Victory under Controllable Trainer.
  3. In the JetBlack app’s accessory settings, pair Pulse Link as a heart rate monitor.
  4. Close the JetBlack app before opening your training app, as JetBlack recommends.
  5. In your training app, connect the trainer and choose the heart rate signal it provides. Check that you see a live reading.

Follow JetBlack’s Victory setup guide for its current settings and software requirements. When connected this way, your training app may show the trainer’s name instead of Pulse Link.

Fix common connection problems

  • Pulse Link does not appear: turn on Broadcast Warmup and allow Bluetooth access on iPhone. Search in the training app’s heart rate sensor menu.
  • Connected, but no heart rate: start the workout and check for a live reading on iPhone. Warmup alone does not provide readings.
  • Too many Bluetooth connections: disconnect unused sensors or connect through Victory. Pulse Link can send heart rate to up to three devices at once.
  • The trainer will not connect: close the trainer setup app before opening the training app.
  • The device name is different: look for the name you set in Pulse Link, or the trainer’s name if it is passing on heart rate.

When you have finished, stop the workout. If you turned on Broadcast Warmup yourself, stop that too.
